Songs for the Unheard
Amidst global conflicts, the voice of composer Abu Jalib often went unheard in 1970s New York. Nevertheless, he firmly believed in the power of music as the ultimate form of communication and in its ability to convey a message of hope to future generations. With my piece, I aim to breathe new life into his lesser-known classic Blood of an American, as its themes of struggle, loss, and resilience remain ever relevant. Songs for the Unheard is both a tribute to those whose voices go unnoticed and my personal response to the challenges of our time.
