Lost Night
For me, Lost Night explores coming of age, what we carry forward and what we leave behind. London, as a child, was a place of wonder. Very different dreams to the ones I hold now. Coming back to create this piece felt like a step back in time, filled with memory, nostalgia, and moments of my youth. Working in this context with the artists at Acosta Foundation, I was deeply moved by our conversations around coming of age, navigating the dance world, and the complexity of becoming a young adult today. So much was discussed during this intense but beautiful time together, so much was taken away. With Bleuete, we always aim to focus on story and reasons behind the work more than anything else. As you can hear I wasn’t very well at the time of sending him this voice note, but he didn’t care and it felt right for him to capture thoughts unfolding in real time.
